The BMX club is planning on having their concession stand open when we are there during the TNT...they are a non-profit club as well and we thank them for looking out for us AND sharing their REAL RESTROOMS with us during our races all year. Be sure to catch them racing this season too on a Friday or Saturday night starting now.

Taylor Park RC Raceway Vandalized...again
Well Racers...
I am sad to say that we have been victims of more serious vanadlism this time at the track.
A member just called to report that ALL of the windows have been busted out and at least one speaker ruined.
In addition, everything that "was" in the scoring booth has been thrown out of the booth onto the ground for us to clean up with the glass etc.
If you are in the area today 2-20-12 after work, please stop by and lend a hand to see what we can salvage.
ALL SCORING EQUIPMENT AND COMPUTERS ARE SAFE AND ARE NOT KEPT ON PREMISES!
A police report is being made. If anyone has any information to help, please contact the Yukon Police Dept

Great Turnout for the End of Season Party!
What a great turnout Friday evening! Thank you to everyone that was able to make it. We know a few of you couldn't make it unfortunatley. Not sure where we would've put you if you were able to make it. It was a full house for sure

HUGE HUGE Apologies to Carlos and Chad! We completely overlooked the fact that we had TWO TIES! We didn't catch it when we ordered plaques and I completely left Chad out Friday night when I announced his class! I Promise to be better prepared next season fellas!
Chad tied Ryan for SECOND IN THE 2WD SC CLASS. Carlos tied Hiro for 3rd in the EXPERT NITRO TRUGGY CLASS
I can't apologize enough to the two of you. We are ordering the plaques today and will deliver them as soon as they are completed. Again...Please forgive us for the mixup
Jon and I wanted to say Thank You for the appreciation dinner and plaques that you surprised us with on Friday. That was a true surprise and a very nice gesture to our families as well. We truly appreciate all of the racers and hard work that has been brought together to make this our second successful season at Taylor Park RC Raceway.
Finally, we will be in touch for those of you that weren't able to pick up your plaque last Friday. We'll also be in touch with all of the Points Champions later this week when the tires arrive for the prizes for each class champion from Duratrax.

End of 2011 Racing Season
Attention Racers...
This is an official announcement for Taylor Park RC Raceway
We will call the season done as of now.....We have all enjoyed a GREAT SEASON of racing this year!
We have polled all of our race directors and everyone is tapped out or worn out from the large races we've had over the last few events. As always, "IF" cabin fever strikes a large group of racers and we have a race director available, we will hold races as weather permits and the expected turnout is sufficient during the off-season. Please feel free to communicate via email or on facebook for any races like this
Everyone needs a break for sure this weekend, and then the following weekend is Halloween. Then, COMPETITION RC will be re-opening their doors for racing and will be back in full operation effective November 1st. They plan to race outdoors as long as they can until the weather changes and then they will begin their indoor season.
The RC Pro Finals are also being held the first weekend in November.
Finally,
There is a large electric race in Hutchinson Kansas that many of our racers will attend on November 11-12-13 for the FALL CLASSIC....info can be found at Heartlandrc.com I believe
In addition to that, Adams Creek in Broken Arrow and Mike's Hobbies and Indy RC in Texas will be in full swing with their indoor seasons by then.
We will be announcing the date/time/location for an End of Season PARTY later this week. Everyone is welcome to attend.

2011 OKLAHOMA SHOOTOUT IS HERE!

This week is shaping up to be an AWESOME week for racing at Taylor Park RC Raceway! The weather has blessed us with plenty of water this week, but it looks like we are all CLEAR and in the low 80's for the rest of the week.
The crew will resume final track preparation Wednesday and Thursday evening around 6pm both nights.
Practice for the event begins at NOON this Friday
Kelly will be back with the Food/Drink tent for us and BREAKFAST IS ON THE MENU FOR THE AM!
We have near 50 raffle prizes ready to go for this event and more on the way!

Track Update
Alright racers...HERE WE GO! I just wanted to say a few things before we get this busy week kicked off...
Thank you to everyone for all the comments and concerns about the track posted over the last few days on facebook. As most of you know, we will do our very best to provide the most fun, competitive and friendly place to race that we can. There is a lot said in that..."WE" It has taken all of us to get the track to this point. Whether you have had a shovel, water hose, remote or all of the above...WE APPRECIATE IT and simply couldn't have come this far without ALL of you. Again, Thank You Everyone! We have been open less than two years and have made HUGE strides toward success.
We are working on a date and time for a large racer meeting very soon. We will be handing out awards and prizes for the 2011 Points Championships. There will also be plenty of time allocated for a group discussion about how we prep the track, run the races, classes for next season etc. This meeting will be open to the public, EVERYONE will be welcome. We need input from racers to make it better for the racers. We won't always get it right, but we will certainly try.
This week, we'll start off by trying to remove the water from the track as soon as possible so it will begin to dry.
We'll email and post up here as soon as the track is ready for a work party...More than likely, Tuesday evening and then as much as possible until the weekend to get it ready for the OKLAHOMA SHOOTOUT. This is going to be our largest event of the season, so we'll need all the help we can get this week.

NO RACING THIS WEEKEND!

We will skip racing this weekend at Taylor Park RC Raceway due to increasing chances of rain over the weekend and the fact that the last three races have been either a points race or a major race. In addition to that, there is a little football game South of Norman that will hold most of the state's attention on Saturday for awhile...
We will take a weekend of club racing OFF this weekend. Then, next week we will begin preparations for the OKLAHOMA SHOOTOUT, OCTOBER 15TH. We need everyone rested and ready to go for what is shaping up to be even bigger than the State-Line Showdown.

The weather was perfect Saturday night and the racing was exciting to watch in all classes. Congrats to the podium finishers and all participants!

It's official! Taylor Park RC Raceway has been awarded an RC Pro Qualifier for the 2012 Season!!!
We are very pleased to announce this great reward for the hard work that everyone has put into the facility over the last two seasons. We couldn't have done it without YOU...the RACERS!
Event dates and details will be released later this year by RC Pro. We will update everyone as soon as we know the information. Many of the last RC Pro events held in Oklahoma had upwards of 200+ entries! We are looking forward to bringing RC PRO back to OKLAHOMA!
Also just a quick reminder...we will be CLOSED Sept 3rd for Labor Day Weekend! This weekend is our last race before the NEXT POINTS race! We need all the racers we can get to raise funds for dirt between now and the track rebuld Sept 17th and 18th. The DEADLINE for racer contributions for dirt will be MONDAY, SEPT 12th!

Great Racing Weather Coming Saturday!
Saturday night's points racing was packed full of excitement as all classes we well contested. We also had two past IFMAR World's Racer's from Oklahoma on the track! Trevor Turner and Kyle Skidmore laid down some of the fastest laps of the night. Congratulations to ALL the winners and participants!
This week is going to provide some of the BEST weather we've seen in awhile in Yukon. Forecast shows LESS THAN 100 for Saturday! Nothing wrong with that at all! Last Saturday was very pleasant with the cool North wind after the Sun went down.

We are VERY FOCUSED on the next track rebuild. The planned build date is SEPT 17th and SEPT 18th. The ONC will buy as much dirt as we have funds for before the build. Currently, we have enough to buy 2 loads. Our goal is 20 loads! Time Flies Fast! It is time for POINTS NIGHT At TPR this Saturday!
Points races will begin AT 7:00PM this Saturday

We have sawdust and are gathering more in the event that we need it to dry the track. Unless it's just a downpour and sitting under water...we'll be racing this weekend
The points races are shaping up and are always exciting. The points champions for the 2011 season will be decided by the BEST 5 OUT of 8 RACES points totals in each class. At this time, we are designing the plaques for the points champions and planning to provide a plaque for 5 places in each class. We will be listing prizes for each class a little later.
We are planning to work on the driver's stand/scoring booth again this Friday evening at 8pm. We would like to be able to use it for this Saturday's racing action. Please feel free to come and lend a hand.

ONC UPDATE
Racers...
We will be working on the driver's stand and scoring booth tonight at 8PM. Our goal is to work until it is completed tonight.
We will NOT be working tomorrow on the driver's stand...it is MUCH COOLER at night
We WILL BE HOLDING a regular club race Saturday with HEATS BEGINNING AT 7:00pm.

We would appreciate any and all help for the construction job. We will move the next phase...building a NEW LAYOUT...soon. But we still need funds for dirt to complete a new layout. We WILL NOT begin until we have raised enough funds to do it right.
As a Non-Profit, we raise funds by race entries and racer's contributions. You do NOT have to be a club member to contribute or help out. If you want to contribute...step up and help out what you can as soon as you can.

ONC Update

WE WILL BE RACING THIS SATURDAY
We have a construction job to complete the driver's stand extension. We need all the help we can get as our framing crew hasn't been able to work us in to the schedule yet. We need to complete this job as soon as possible. Then, we can set a date for the track rebuild.
We'll need help building pit tables in addition to the extension, so there is plenty to do. Please feel free to bring a screw gun, ladder, or anything else you can think of that might help us get it done sooner.
We have a work schedule planned for this Friday night around 8pm until ? Then we plan to resume working Saturday morning at 8am until we are finished
Please remember ALL races will start at 7pm until further notice.

Track Planning Meeting THURSDAY 7-21-11
We have confirmed our meeting location for this Thursday's track build planning meeting.
LOUIE'S Restaurant on Garth Brooks blvd in Yukon beginning at 6pm until ?
We will have the meeting room inside the restaurant for this meal/meeting. All food/drink is on you if you'd like to enjoy some great food while we visit about the upcoming track build.
Please DO NOT forget that we will be finishing the driver's stand BEFORE we build the track. This is a planning meeting to discuss layout styles and organize the build.
We are confirming schedules with a framing crew that has offered to help us with the driver's stand. We WILL STILL NEED LOTS OF HELP to get this done, so please make plans to come and help if you can make it.
Overall, the brief plans are...
1) Track building meeting, open to everyone...not just ONC members
2) Complete phase 1 of 3 for driver's stand extension...with phase 3 of our build being the wheel chair accessible ramp to complete the build.
3) Raise funds to buy more dirt for this upcoming build...we will take club member and racer donations for this project like we did last season....looking at buying upwards of 20-30 loads of dirt at approx 100.00/load
Finally, ALL ONC Paid members and ALL non-club members should make every attempt to get involved with these projects. We have a LOT of work to and we need all the help we can get to get this done before our big races coming up very soon! 110 Degrees, What else ya got!
Well 110 degree weather didn't stop almost 50 entries from attending our July Points race this last Saturday....
But it did kill one laptop, printer and made for another marathon points race. The ONC truly appreciates the racing spirit of the racers that have endured our growing pains. It won't be long and the issues like this will be behind us...
The AIR CONDITIONED scoring booth will be in place very soon and will help to prevent any mishaps like this in the very near future. We are working on scheduling now for the framing crew to move forward with the driver's stand extension now. The goal is to have it completed this week, or next at the latest.
The RACE RESULTS will be posted as soon as possible for this last race.
Just to clear up a quick item...
We WILL BE RACING THIS WEEKEND, JULY 16th, HEATS START AT 7:00PM
There was some confusion about this on Saturday....there is a group of our regular racers heading to the Futaba-O.S. Engines Challenge in Saint Louis this weekend, but the normal race schedule HERE AT TAYLOR PARK will continue.
We will be raising funds for a dirt purchase as SOON as the driver's stand is completed. We hope to raise 1000.00 from the racers, and match that from the club funds for approximately 20 loads of fresh dirt. We are planning on widening the track by two to three lanes. There should be plenty of dirt for elevation changes in addition to bowl turns etc etc.

Finally, our thoughts and prayers are with Chris Rhoda and his family this week. Someone posted on our forum at rc tech that he had been admitted to the hospital. We pray for a full and speedy recovery.

Club Racing Begins Saturday at 5:00pm
Well, we hope everyone has recovered from the "marathon" race we had last week. It was a struggle, but fun at the same time. We hated to run a late program for lots of reasons, but also hated to shorten a program for just as many reasons. So, again, we truly appreciate everyone for enduring the late night and putting on a good show last week.
We were able to raise $250.00 for the benefit of Competition RC. It was great to see James and Louise and I know they enjoyed seeing a lot of familiar faces in the pits too. We are looking forward to the "Grand Re-Opening" party to be announced at Competition RC soon.
Our regular racing program will be in action this SATURDAY with Heat Races beginning at 5:00PM
We will be working on the track on Thursday nights this Summer, you are welcome to practice on Thursday nights. But, after we water and reface the jumps, they are off limits until the next day so they can harden and setup for the races on Saturday.
I'm quite certain that we will not repeat the long night again, so prepare your racecars and we'll see you at the track!

GREAT TURNOUT for the Competition RC Benefit Race!
We really enjoyed having a large group of racers from Competition RC join us for this Saturday's racing! It ended up being a looooonnnnggg day due the rain and a few technical issues along the way. The ONC would like to thank everyone that came out to support the Competition RC Benefit race. We had a blast racing with all of you!
We would also like to thank Competition RC for sponsoring Plaques for the largest class of the day for the 4WD Short Course Open Class, very cool! Congratulations to all the winners and participants
I just want to say that we appreciate everyone sticking with us through the rain delay. Beleive it or not, we ran about an hour over what the program should've ran in a perfect world. We were not expecting 12 heats! That's about double what we normally run, so pat yourselves on the back for a Great Turnout, and some GREAT RACING all night...and I mean all night. The weather kept us on our toes all day, even as we packed up to go home, it was blowing in again. Track conditions were PERFECT for the main events. Thank you again to everyone that helped us make it happen!
It was great to see James and Louise hanging out in the pits. Looking forward to seeing them back to racing real soon!

Points Race and Competition RC Benefit Race, Saturday June 11th
Thank you to everyone that made it out to race Saturday at Taylor Park RC Raceway. We had some great racing in all classes. Even the "Lunch Money" race turned out to match the hype in the Nitro Truggy class. Congrats to all the winners in each class. Good competition all night long!

One of our local hobby shops and racetrack's was damaged by the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma. Competition RC lost their roof and is in the process of cleaning up significant water damage. It will be a short amount of time before they are able to get back to racing and normal business operations.
The ONC will hold a BENEFIT RACE for Competition RC on JUNE 11th, 2011
Competition RC loaned us a scoring system for the ONC to use when we began racing last season. We are very greatful for that as well as the help and service they have provided to our many local racers for more than a decade. We would like to do anything we can to help get them back to racing as soon as possible.
The ONC will give 50% of the proceeds from our NEXT RACE, JUNE 11th to Competition RC to help in the recovery efforts.
James and Louise, owners of Competition RC will also be hanging out in the pits throughout the event to visit and watch some racing action too.
We WILL have food and drinks available at this race on site.
ROAR membership is still required for all racers. 15.00 day pass, and 25.00 annual passes are available at the track on race day. If you are paying for your ROAR membership, you race for FREE on that same day

Pray for our Racing Friends
We want to extend our thoughts and prayers to everyone that may have been affected in any way by the terrible storms over the last week. It has been tough for many in Oklahoma and the surrounding states.
We have just been informed that our friends at Competition RC received significant damage to their hobby shop in yesterday's devastating storms. Thankfully, nobody was injured.
The Oklahoma Nitro Club will be ready to help in any way possible to help our fellow racers get back to racing. It is early in the process, so at this time, we don't know what we can do just yet, but we hope to be able to help them rebuild a track, stock a shelf or anything we can do to help as soon as possible.

Racing Update
We are planning on racing this Saturday...WEATHER PERMITTING of course. We have 2 or 3 days with good chances of rain. So we'll see what happens
Rain will not hurt the track, but it all depends on if we actually get any and how much.

Taylor Park RC Raceway update is a little thin this week as I was in Amarillo for the weekend...The Pictures and Results have been posted. I have heard the racing was very good and the track surface was a blast to drive on Saturday night. Congrats to all of our winners!
Amarillo AKA Mid-America Championship updates...
The racing was very tight all weekend. Most classes were seperated by only a few seconds/lap from top to bottom of the class. The track was saved from blowing out on Friday by the awesome track crew of West Texas RC. They did a great job and actually watered lightly between every heat ALL WEEKEND, to keep the track together for the entire event. It worked perfectly!
Professional Kyosho driver and former IFMAR World Champion led the way most of the weekend. He is also one of the owners and designers of AKA RC Racing tires, the lead sponsor for the event. The SPEC tire for the event were soft, green compound City-Blocks worked great all weekend and show very little wear after a hard weekend of racing. Racers came from all over the area to compete. The ONC was represented by 10 racers from our area here in Oklahoma. We also saw some of our friends from EPRC crew in Kansas as well as many of the Dallas Texas crew, and of course the host racers from Amarillo showed up in full force too.

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the competition and the layout and the challenges it presented. The event was very well ran and ended in a nice timely fashion each day. Can't wait for the 2nd annual event!

The layout has been changed, if you haven't been on it yet, might be worth a little extra practice. Short-Course classes are now using 90% of the whole track. The only sections not used are the BIG double in the middle and the double double on the back section. Lap times are in the 30+ second range now for SC's. You can see the layout on the home page of our website now.
Also, Gary may need a hand with setup and track watering and tear down for Saturday's races. If you are able, please help him out. Any help will be greatly appreciated
If you will be arriving late, please make arrangements with someone to have you signed up before signups are closed at 3:30!

Track Layout Change-Help Needed Thursday evening at the track
RACING THIS WEEKEND at 4PM
The Oklahoma Nitro Club is proud to represent the rc enthusiasts at THE FESTIVAL of THE CHILD for the 2nd year.
We will be hosting an RC Demonstration this Saturday at Yukon City Park from 10:00am to 3:00pm
We will have several short-course electric rc trucks for kids and parents to test drive for a couple of laps each at the park. We will also run short demonstrations for Nitro powered rc vehicles during the event-(to be driven by the vehicle's owner only for nitro demo)
If you have any spare time and would like to help us at the demo for any amount of time, please contact Jason Grant at 405-474-0678 or email racnsoonr@gmail.com to be added to the list so you won't be charged at the gate. Or, if you have a short-course vehicle that you can provide for the demo for a few hours, PLEASE contact me as soon as possible. All test drives are performed with an ONC club member's on hand assistance and guidance.

It was an excellent day for racing! Everyone had a great time and the ONC represented in a big way. It was a tough day for some of us mechanically or otherwise, but thankfully, that's not the only part of having a great time.
There were over 80 entries for this event including possibly a slight majority of racers from Oklahoma. I haven't seen all the final results just yet, but I know that the Oklahoma Crew was competitive in all classes all day. Keith Alexander, Byrant "Midnight" Hollaway, and Cody Hollis were just a few our racers that had good results yesterday...CONGRATS!
Way to GO ONC and ALL OKIES that represented yesterday!
Can't wait for the Finally of the Stateline race at our track in September...it's gonna be a blast!

Fun Night of Racing!
The first NIGHT race at Taylor Park RC Racway is in the books!
Fortunately, we were able to complete the full day of racing (and had to water the track) before the MUCH NEEDED RAIN came to town. Son was on the mic which always adds some color to any event!The racing was fast and furious throughout the event. Night racing has a true "racing" feel that was evident Saturday night.
This weekend, the track is open for practice only-NO RACING THIS WEEKEND at TPR, NO POWER-WATER-OR LIGHTS will be on this weekend. We will be racing in Wichita, Kansas for the State-Line Showdown this weekend at Emery Park RC.

Current plans are to make a layout change before the next event...which is MAY 7th, beginning at 4:00pm
ONC Representatives will also be hosting a booth at the "FESTIVAL of the CHILD" May 7th at Yukon City Park from 10am to 4pm. We will hold Nitro Demonstrations, as well as have several SC trucks available for kids and parents to test for a couple of laps at the festival...stop by and see us!

This is a great chance for last minute tuning and practice before the STATE LINE SHOWDOWN at Emery Park RC club's track in Wichita next weekend. This is a two race series between our clubs and local racers. You do NOT need to be a member of either club to particpate in either race. Their club will be here in Yukon for the finally in September. NO ROAR membership is required at their track.
We will be closed here next weekend to travel with as many racers from Oklahoma as we can to race with our fellow racers and rc club in Wichita Kansas.
The start time for the Showdown is NOON, April 30th. Wichita is approx 2 hrs North of Yukon
Transponders ARE REQUIRED for all racers attending the event....please email us at oklahomanitroclub@gmail.com if you are interested in going, but need to find a carpool ride, or borrow a transponder for the event.

Last Saturday the Taylor Park RC racers were treated to a perfect day of weather for racing....finally!
We even added a third round of qualifying to get the most out of the day. The racing was great in all classes. Congratulations to our winners

Great Turnout for the 2nd points race of the season!
Almost 50 racers braved the warm and extra-windy conditions this past Saturday. Everyone was battling for postion and POINTS! Race results and current points standings will be posted ASAP.
We will announce some nice prizes for the top 3 in each class later this season. They will be some great prizes.
We had our First ever Female race winner this weekend too! Eryn Smith lead the way for the Novice class and took home First Place...Congrats Eryn!
We had some excellent food for this event! Special Thanks to the Bruner Family for all the effort and great tasting BBQ, Hot Dogs, Links, and Nachos!!!
The Lights around the track have ALL been installed, just a few final braces and the main connection to power and we'll be racing under the lights!

The second round out of eight points races for the Taylor Park RC Raceway 2011 points series will be this Saturday
Heat races will start at 1:00pm
PS...please be careful if you go to the track for practice this week. Please be careful, we have open trenches for the electrical lines for the lights. The trenches DO NOT interfere with the track, so come and get all the practice you want. They should be closed in before Saturday.

Season Opener...A Great Day of Racing!

We opened our season with 48 ENTRIES! What a great start to the 2011 racing season.
The racing action was close and competitive in all 8 heats of racing. We had many new faces at the track like, our Novice class winner, Brandon Washee in his first ever rc race. The hotly contested Nitro classes were full of racing action with competitors coming from as far away as Tulsa and Wichita.
We'll be back in action again this weekend with Heat races starting at 1pm

Stateline Series
We are creating a NEW home/home series this year with another track in Wichita, KS called Emery Park RC Raceway. They operate the same as we do, in a park, next to a bmx track, and as a Non-Profit club that operates the RC Track in the park. We want to support each other as a club and continue to expand our group of fellow racers and enthusiasts across the state line. Here's the plan....
We will hold a race at each track during the year. When it is Emery Park's race, the Oklahoma Nitro Club will CLOSE our track on that weekend to encourage all that can make it to go to Wichita as a club to race at the host track. They will split ALL ENTRIES with our club that day.
We will return the favor later in the season when our turn to host the race. They will close their track and we will split ALL ENTRIES with their club for that day's event. You can check out their club here... www.emeryparkrc.com

We will be holding two MEMBERSHIP DRIVE meetings to joing the ONC to be held in the month of January. We will announce the time/locations very soon...
We are working on the schedule for 2011 right now...we plan to announce important dates and Races next week.
We are still working on our light installation and have begun the search for an AMB scoring system.

Once again, you do NOT have to be a club member to race with us, it provides funds for the track development...as a non-profit club, ALL proceeds received by the ONC are used for the track development and operation.

2011-01-06 - Get Ready for 2011!
Happy New Year Racers!
The ONC wanted to provide a brief update for the quickly approaching racing season of 2011
We will be holding two MEMBERSHIP DRIVE meetings to joing the ONC to be held in the month of January. We will announce the time/locations very soon...
We are working on the schedule for 2011 right now...we plan to announce important dates and Races next week.
We are still working on our light installation and have begun the search for an AMB scoring system.
Please remember that you CAN complete your membership enrollment online using PAYPAL if you like...check our website for details or contact an officer anytime.
Once again, you do NOT have to be a club member to race with us, it provides funds for the track development...as a non-profit club, ALL proceeds received by the ONC are used for the track development and operation.

2010-11-10 - End of Season Dinner/Discussion
The first season at Taylor Park RC Raceway is in the books as of last Saturday's race.
We would like to invite EVERYONE to join us at LOUIE'S Restaurant in Yukon, NEXT THURSDAY 11-18-10 from 6pm to 8pm.
We will have tables reserved in their meeting room. Food and Beverage of your choice, because it's on you....
We want to eat, chill out and visit about racing. There will also be some discussion of the plans for 2011 season. There will NOT be any voting done at this meeting.

2010-10-29 - NO RACING This Saturday!
Sorry for the LATE notice guys...but I just found out that we had a problem with our backup to run the races for this weekend. 2010-10-24 - Thank You!
First thing we would like to do is say THANK YOU! To all of the racers that traveled many miles to race with us this weekend. Of course, we don't want to forget our local and in state racers as well. We really really appreciate your support at Taylor Park RC Raceway.
Also, a very special Thank You to the track crew that absolutely worked their tails off to make this happen. We received an unreal amount of rain and somehow were able to race this Saturday.
Finally, we want to thank all of the racers for their patience in a tough situation. We had survived the weather and been on schedule to run A's, B's and C's with bumps including 30min A-mains in Nitro classes and Double A-Mains in Electric. Unfortunately, the computer had a mind of it's own and switched people from one class to another and basically all but eliminated the main event setup for us. Thank you to Scott and Gary for the hard work to get us on the track with what time we had left after the glitch. They worked hard to help us out and we certainly appreciate it. I know that there had to be some mistakes on the setup for the mains as it was a very hectic time and we simply did the best that we could with what was presented. My apologies to everyone for the mixup. We look forward to making it up to you on your future visits to the track
We will be planning another race in the Spring 2011 sometime that will be just as big if not bigger and have FREE ENTRIES for EVERYONE that attends! We hope to see everyone that raced the First Annual Shootout again soon

Results have been posted under the RESULTS tab...once again, huge Thank You to Scott Harrell and the West Texas Rc Gang for helping us run this race and bringing a large race crew with them. The Kansas crew showed up in full force as well. It was great to see some old friends and make some new ones at the track.
All in all the event was a great success and our club is very thankful to everyone. We believe that we have enough funds to have our lights installed before the end of the year! Thank you for your participation and your support

2010-10-21 - Track will be READY!
The track is ready and the jumps are all TARPED...
Not sure how much rain we will or won't get tonight and tomorrow...but THE TRACK WILL BE RACE READY FOR SATURDAY'S RACE! We also have sawdust and spare dirt to help dry the track if necessary
We will be at the track around 10am to check and see where we are. If the weather holds off, or we don't get hit too bad, we will open for practice tomorrow at NOON as scheduled
Otherwise, stay tuned for any updates, but be ready to race Saturday Morning on time
A couple of reminders...we will have hot dogs, hot links, chili pies, nachos, soda, water, and Monster avaialable on Saturday for vert reasonable prices. We will have great raffle prizes to be given away Saturday during the racing action. You don't have to be present to win, but you do have to buy a ticket :0]
We have racers registered from Kansas, Texas and of course Oklahoma. All skill levels will be welcome and will have plenty of track time. The race entry INCLUDES a one day ROAR membership for insurance purposes, so please come on out and race with us

2010-10-18 - SHOOTOUT WEEK!!!
Alright alright alright...it's time to get ready for the First Annual Taylor Park RC Raceway Shootout THIS SATURDAY Oct 23rd
This is a special event that will include an OPEN practice on Friday from Noon until 6pm for any participants for Saturday's racing action. The track will be CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC from Friday Oct 22nd until Sunday Oct 24th.
We raced on the new layout this past Saturday for the FIRST time and it received great reviews! The track really flows well. It is fast with a good rythym and Expert laptimes in the low 30's. The layout has large jumps, with some take-offs as high as 3ft for Nitro racing. The electric racers will use the entire track, EXCEPT the back stretch double doubles.
The track will be groomed and ready for Friday's practice and reworked before we begin racing Saturday morning at 11:00am. There will be an open practice Saturday morning from 8am to 10am.
ENTRY DEADLINE IS 10:00AM SATURDAY, October 23rd...NO EXCEPTIONS!

2010-10-07 - BIG RACE and RAFFLE!!!
Hey Racers,
We are announcing our FIRST BIG RACE at Taylor Park RC Raceway! Oct 23...One Day Event. It's the week before the RC Pro finals, but we are hoping to get a good turnout from guys that want to get some good racing in to get ready for the finals. This is also one week after the Enid RC Speedway Pizza race on October 16th. A fun event just an hour North of us to kick off the indoor season in Enid. It's difficult to pick a "perfect" race date as Halloween is the week after that...it just goes on and on, so we had to pick a date
Please see the attached ENTRY FORM...we are still waiting for confirmation from O.S. Engines, O'Donnell and Futaba as to which ones will participate...so the sponsors could change. We currently have over $1,000 in retail product to raffle off during this ONE day event....
Another note...We are planning on ending our regular season schedule Saturday, November 6th for weekly club racing.
We WILL still race from time to time throughout the winter as the weather permits. Those races will be announced via our website and to the ONC GROUP email list. You can join that email list from the HOME page of this website to stay up to date with all latest news from the club as it happens.
We are working on purchasing and installing LIGHTS before the end of the year. So, get ready for some night racing next season!

2010-09-24 - Track Update

2010-09-18 - Racing Update
Another GREAT day of racing at Taylor Park RC Raceway! We had 3 heats of racers throughout the day. They range from Expert seasoned vets to completely NEW to racing and enjoying their first race on a prepared track.
We even had a visitor from wayyy across the big pond, about 7,000 miles to be exact. Phil Bedford from England has been practicing and helping out at the track most evenings over the last week. He finally got to enjoy the fruits of labor on raceday. He held up well and finished 5th overall against some good competition in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class. it was GREAT to meet you Phil, good luck on your next race!
Race results will be posted very soon...Gary Pershall took almost 300 AWESOME PICS! They are posted on our photos section of the website. The racing was great and fun to watch too. We appreciate everyone that was able to come out Saturday and hope to see you back this next Saturday for another great day of racing action.
2010-09-11 - Fun Day of Racing
One of our best days of racing weather was enjoyed by all Saturday. We had a lot of fun and were taking winner pics before dark...for a change! Bryant "Midnight" Hollaway was strong all day and pulled off the win even while making tuning pit stops in the first "moto" of two to take the overall win for the day in the nitro class.
We had some new faces racing again with us at Taylor Park RC Raceway. We are always happy to see new faces and glad to help when needed. Philip is visiting the US on business and wise enough to bring his RC GEAR with him! Come out this week when you can in the evenings and run some laps with our guest Philip from overseas. Welcome to Oklahoma Phil and welcome to our crazy weather...we always say, if you don't like the weather here...just stick around a minute, it will change soon :)
We ran a new format this past Saturday similar to outdoor moto-cross styled events. We had two qualifiers for everyone, then we ran double A-Mains for each class...you score points for how you finish in each and the lowest point total wins the overall for the day. Congratulations to our winners and we hope to see everyone at the track again this Saturday for some great racing action!

2010-08-28 - Great Racing Weather!
Thank you to everyone that was able to come out and enjoy COOLER RACING WEATHER! Our first day under 100 at the track in awhile. Great racing in all classes was exciting to watch, especially in the Nitro Buggy class. We had 9 buggies with the top 3 swapping the lead multiple times. They were seperated by less than 5 seconds for 2/3 of the race!
Special THANK YOU to Jennifer West and Ron Carroll for helping to call the races all day! Really appreciate the help from everyone that provides on raceday!

2010-08-21 - Racing Update
Last week's racing provided some good racing in all 3 classes. We have seen some new faces the past two weekends and we are excited to see the word getting out about Taylor Park RC Raceway.

We are moving ever closer to installing lights at the track. We have located the fixtures and are waiting on word from O.G.&E. for a good word on poles for installation. Stay tuned for further updates as we hope to have them installed within a month or less from now.
Our Electric class has seen some recent growth and I just wanted to remind everyone that we do cut out the larger jumps on the back right section of the track for the electric classes...so please don't be intimidated from the size of the track/jumps...come check it out!
There has been some discussion of adding a second A-main for the Electric class for a double A-main format. This will be easy to accomodate after our lights are installed at the track
The weather is COOLING OFF this week and we are looking forward to racing in under 100 DEGREE weather for the first time in awhile!

2010-08-15 - New Faces
Another HOT day of racing yesterday on and off the track. It was so hot that our laptop decided it was going to be a fair weather racer. Special thanks to Jon Wright for being quick to fix us up with a backup pc for the races yesterday.
It was great to see some new racers at the track as well. We had a total of 6 NEW racers at the track yesterday!

We had a 9 entries in the Nitro Buggy class yesterday even with a few of our regulars on vacation!
LIGHTS!!! We are on the hunt for METAL HAYLIDE LIGHTING. If anyone out there can help us with free or discounted pricing on 400watt to 1000watt fixtures, we would be most appreciative. We have access to the poles, installation and connection if we can come up with the fixtures we need. We believe we need 4 1000watt OR 6-8 400watt units.
Scoring System...just wanted to be sure and update the racing community to let you know that we DO HAVE and HAVE HAD a computer scoring system at the track. You DO NOT need transponders at this time to race with us...just a car number that WE provide for you. So come on out and race!!!

2010-08-09 - Good Times!
Thank you to everyone that came and raced with us on the new layout this past Saturday! We had a lot of fun and are already looking forward to the next one. We had a couple of new faces in the pits in addition to a reporter from our local newspaper. Keep your eyes out for an article in the Yukon Review in the next week or so.

2010-08-02 - New Layout!
All I can say is WoW! It was a brutally HOT weekend and we used all of it to build the new HUGE layout. Pics will be coming soon

2010-07-27 - Track Build Update
We were unable to get the equipment last weekend for our new track build. We had a quick race last Saturday. The racing was close and worth watching in each class.
We are planning on meeting THIS SATURDAY at 1pm at the track to finalize our new layout and begin working on the track. We expect to have the necessary equipment this weekend and will be ready to work.

2010-07-21 - Track Rebuild!!!
We have orderded 10 more loads of dirt for the track. This will DOUBLE the amount of our current dirt.
We will begin rebuilding the track around 1PM this Saturday until dark or before...
We will FINISH Sunday beginning at 6AM, YES AM! on sunday morning to beat the heat and get it finished
We would appreciate any and all help we can get, we have plenty of shovels and tools to keep you busy. The track size will be INCREASED and will be a COMPLETE REBUILD

We had some great racing Saturday evening!
The dirt held water after the 2nd application (Thank you to the water crew!) and stayed moist and super tacky throughout the mains with no further water. Traction rolling was an issue for a change!
Entry to the pits is FREE and racing is just 15.00 entry.

2010-07-14 - ONC Update
We will be working on the track this Thursday Evening From about 6pm until Dark. We expect to have a Bobcat or small tractor to work the track and begin clearing grass for the new layout.

2010-06-30 - IMPORTANT UPDATE
NO RACES THIS WEEKEND DUE TO THE JULY 4th HOLIDAY!
We will be changing our race program times at our next scheduled race July 10th.
New times are:
Gates Open 3:00pm
Heat Races Start at 5:00pm
Heats/Mains will finished by dark
Unfortunately, we can't make the schedule perfect for everyone..we are simply trying to beat the heat right now.
We are ordering our roof today and should have it by the first of next week. We'll install it NEXT THURSDAY on July 8th at 5:30, please be ready to help.
We are also working on locating and installing lights so that we can begin night racing as soon as possible.
Finally, we have located and will be working on adding some more dirt. Our cost is 25.00/load plus fuel for delivery. We would like to plan a major work/haul day as soon as the guys get back from the Futaba race (7-10). We will announce these plans as they come together.
Obviously, both of these major items cost money. If you or anyone you know would like to help the track development with money or supplying time, equipment or labor...please let us know as soon as possible. We will earmark any funds contributed specifically for these purposes to be used only for these projects.
PS, the ONC annual dues are now prorated to 50.00 for the remainder of the year for anyone that's been thinking about joining.

2010-06-21 - HELP NEEDED
We need some help this week at the track. We need to perform as much work as we can this Thursday evening to prep the track for the races this Saturday.
We'll need to shovel and work on some of the jumps as the massive amount of rain we got last week has "watered" them down a little. Don't think it will take much if we can pitch in together.
We would also like to work on the roof that night if we have enough help.
Finally, the officers met last week to get caught up on a few items. We decided that for now...we will NOT race on Holiday weekends... including the normal national holidays and Mother's Day and Father's Day weekend. Too many people going in too many different directions makes it hard to hold a normal race. This decision can and will be changed in the future if it needs to be.

2010-06-17 - DEMO
We have been invited to put on a demo next THURSDAY at the Yukon Community Center for Yukon Summer Camp.
We will setup from 9:30 to 10:00am. We will be speaking to 40-50 kids. We'll explain a little about our hobby/racing and the new track. Then we'll answer any questions that they might have. Finally, we'll set up a small course outside like we did at the Festival of the Child earlier in May. The kids will be test driving for a couple of laps each.
We need volunteers for anyone that would like to help in any way from 10am-Noon.
More importantly, we NEED BATTERIES, CHARGERS and TRUCKS to run. If anyone would like to lend a hand or some equipment, please let us know ASAP

2010-06-14 - THANKS!
A special thank you to Gary Pershall for stepping up and taking over the mic and running the races for us yesterday after Son had to leave.
MOST APPRECIATED and he did a great job Thank you to all the club members that helped setup and close the track after the races...really really appreciate the help.
We had a Great Day of racing with nice cloud cover and a steady wind. Thanks to everyone that came and raced or stopped by to check it out.

Heads up...
We will be holding our first ROAR practice tomorrow night from 5:30 or 6:00 to 8:30 or so.
The track will be watered and the power will be on.
Obviously ROAR membership required and is available at the track.
ONC members practice for FREE, all others pay 5.00

Thank You to everyone that made it to our 2nd race today at Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon!
We ran 3 heats for 3rounds qualifying with 20 minute mains for the nitro classes. The sc class ran 6 mins qualifiers and main event. The wind was a big help today in keeping the heat in check for the most part. Thank You to everyone for all the help today, everyone was very helpful.

Classes will be put together on raceday, EVERYONE will get to race if you show up.
WE HAVE POWER!!!!
You will need to bring extension chords and power strips...
Please leave your compressors at home unless you bring your own generator... we'll have a good community compressor in operation this weekend
Don't forget your Sunscreen, Plenty of Water, Pit Tables and Shade as it will be hot and windy, so bring stuff to secure your EZ up
We'll have some pit tables completed very soon.

2010-05-30 - A HUGE SUCCESS!
SPECIAL THANK YOU! to Scott, Samantha and Matt for making the trip from Amarillo for our First Official Race this Memorial Day Weekend. Not only did they come and race with us, they brought all the equipment to run a race AND called the races for us! Can't thank you enough. We really appreciated the generosity for fellow racers and a new track.
What a HOT event! On and off the track.
Thanks again to everyone that made the race a fun event, and congrats to all the winners!

R.O.A.R. Membership will be required for all races and official practices at Taylor Park RC Raceway for all racers, pit-men, and corner-marshalls.
We have Annual and Day ROAR memberships available AT THE TRACK! 25.00 Annual 15.00 Day
FIRST RACE ENTRY is FREE to help offset the ROAR membership cost.
